Côté Bio

Renée CôtéRenée Côté(b. 15 Jan. 1937) is originally from Québec. She currently lives in Southern Oregon, where she is a regular columnist for WomanSource Rising newspaper and seasonal production assistant for Mother Tongue Ink, publishers of the WeMoon calendar.

She is involved with various projects related to meditation, peace, eco-feminist lesbian organizations and women’s lands.

She has been published in French by les éditions du remue-ménage (Montréal): a booklet on Abortion, Catholic Bishops and Women (1978) and a book on the origins of International Women’s Day (1984).

After receiving an M.A. in Counseling Psychology and an MFCC license in 1990 (Marriage, Family and Child Counselor), she worked as a psychotherapist in private practice and in psychiatric hospitals, inpatient and outpatient programs, and as a case manager in foster care. This last position precipitated the urge to search for the truth about her mother. Renée dedicated 11 years (1996-2007) to researching and writing her mother’s story.
